Basic concept
The pumps can be started and stopped in different ways:
-
Continuous operation: only dependent on release signals.
-
Level dependency,"2-point control": The pump switches depending on the level (e.g. water level ON or OFF).
-
Setting value dependency: The pump is switched on if the regulator has a setting value of > 1%.
Designation of the pump station and selection of the alarm messages
The name displayed on the HMI can be freely defined for pump stations. However, this also means that the alarms associated with the pump stations must also be defined.

Handling concept
The operating concept always makes provision for two switches regardless of whether operation is electric (using hardware) or direct (using the control system):
Switch (1) is higher-level and applies to the pump selected with switch (2).
Switch (2) can be realized purely electrically although the PLC cannot decide in this case which pump should be active. The release contact from the PLC ensures that the system switches between the pumps purely electrically by means of a switch. Numerous control cabinets have been realized in this way up to now.
To ensure that the PLC can decide which of the two pumps is to run (e.g. for automatic switching based on time), switch (2) must not be realized purely electrically.
Switching between automatic mode/manual mode/off "Switch (1)"
The user has the option of switching between automatic mode, OFF and manual mode for the pump station. In automatic mode, the control system decides which pump should run. In manual mode, the user can start the pumps directly independently of all releases.
Switching between pump 1 and pump 2 "Switch (2)"
Pumps can either be switched manually or automatically (after a specific operating duration).
The manual switching can be performed by operation on the HMI or via switching contact.
Pump switching can be performed either continuously (both pumps run together temporarily), with a delay (pump 1 switches off and pump 2 is switched on after a delay) or exclusively at the next shutdown of the running pump (e.g. by means of pump OFF or in case of a fault).
Switch to the standby pump
The pump that is not currently selected as a primary pump becomes the standby pump. If the primary pump fails or cannot run, e.g. because there is no external release or because it is faulty, the system switches to standby pump. As soon as all criteria for the primary pump are met again, the system switches from the standby pump back to the primary pump.
Operation releases for the pumps
The pump can be released externally and made dependent on the burner's operating state.
Operation releases for the pumps: Operation mode
For each pump, you can define in which operation mode it is to run: A feed water pump runs independently of the selected operation mode, whereas an oil pump must not be in operation during gas firing.
Operation release for the pumps: Digital contact
To ensure that the pump control system receives an operation release, several release contacts are always required. The release contacts are always digital channels. Unlike most other functions, pump stations have two release contacts.
Start external pumps
If seavis is not configured to control the individual pumps and, instead, only one external pump is to be requested, this digital output channel can be used. If the channel is switched on, control of the internal pumps is automatically switched off. The output circuit takes all release contacts into account as well as the other relevant criteria.
Boost function
A boost function is an available option that activates the second pump automatically if the capacity of a single pump is not sufficient. The boost function is available if two pumps are available and the function was activated via parameters. The second pump is activated in operation if the criteria for the boost function are met and it remains active until a shut-down condition is met.
Pre-parameterization
se@vis pro 3.00 provides four of these pump control systems. These are pre-parameterized to:
