Analog alarms: Hysteresis

Parameter

Description

Value for influencing the process of activating and deactivating the alarm.

Unit and scaling correspond to the configuration of the input signal.

Example

The desired maximum temperature is set to 100 ° C. When this temperature is reached, a MAX alarm is triggered. So that the alarm is not switched off and on again during possible temperature fluctuations, the hysteresis defines a value range for the alarm.

For the alarm to switch on at 100 ° C and switch off at 90 ° C, the comparison value must be configured to 95 ° C and the hysteresis to 5 ° C.

  • The alarm turns on at 100 °C (95 °C + 5 °C).

  • The alarm turns off at 90 °C (95 °C - 5 °C).
